The Fitness Center Class Descriptions 2019
Silver Sneakers Circuit: We combine Cardio-Respiratory Training with Strength Training in a circuit/interval style format. There is an additional focus on balance and coordination. This class is suitable for nearly every fitness level and your instructor can adapt the exercises depending on your skill.
Silver Sneakers Boom Muscle: Increase muscle strength and boost overall fitness with an added focus on agility, balance, and coordination. Participants must have a good sense of balance, the physical ability to do moderately vigorous aerobic activity, and be able to get down on the floor and back up without assistance.
Active Adult Circuit: This class provides body conditioning, light endurance and resistance training while targeting specific muscle groups and building endurance. The class will participate and move from exercise to exercise with short rest periods. Come and enjoy this fun and energetic class!
Chair One Fitness: Chair One Fitness is a comprehensive chair exercise program designed for individuals who have complications standing during a fitness regimen. This includes senior citizens, people with balance deficits, injuries, disabilities, or suffering from obesity. It is designed to keep individuals mobile to ensure they remain progressive in daily function and/or recovery. This program was designed to deliver a fun, interactive workout that uplifts people while providing a total body workout. It is accredited by The National Academy of Sports Medicine, National Certification Council for Activity Professionals, and the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America.
**Pilates: If you are looking for a class that incorporates low impact, functional movements while improving your posture, core strength, and stability, PILATES is for you! This class is for all fitness levels, but you must be able to lay down on the floor and get back up without assistance. You will learn how to coordinate your breathing with exercises focused on strengthening and lengthening the muscles of the body for improved posture, alignment, balance, core strength, and positive body awareness.
**Yoga: Align, strengthen, and promote flexibility with easy to follow movements and instruction. This class focuses on moving the body safely through its full range of motion to increase control, stimulate blood flow, and encourage relaxation. This class is ideal for all skill levels.
Advanced Circuit: This class focuses on muscle conditioning, endurance, and resistance training in a fast paced Circuit Training Format. Be ready to move from one exercise to the next with minimal rest in a fun and challenging environment. Participants should be able to sustain moderate activity, lay down on the floor and get back up without assistance.
**Yoga & Pilates classes are separate from the Fitness Center Membership. Punch Cards are required for participation.
