A DETAILED HISTORY OF DPPT

Deer Park Physical Therapy first opened in 1981.  Mary Hindman, PT, started out using one small room in the local Deer Park Hospital.  Dr. Dan Roberts, PT, DPT, joined Mary in 1983. Dan became the sole owner in 1995, while Mary continues to practice with us.

In 1990, Deer Park Physical Therapy grew into a 2,000 square foot clinic located in the Old City Hall building on Crawford Street.  In 2010, we moved into our current location at 707 S Park Street in Deer Park with 3,500 square feet.

In 2012, we added a 2,000 square foot Fitness Center, which is open to the public.  This allowed for the addition of fitness classes including Pilates, Yoga, Zumba, and Senior Fitness.

The Pool was opened in June 2017, with an additional 3,000 square feet to bring us to our current total of 8,500 square feet of treatment and fitness space.  The pool offers space for Aquatic Therapy as well as community use for fitness classes, lap swim, open swim, and swimming lessons.

In January 2019, The Gym opened to provide Physical Therapy, Strength and Conditioning classes, and personal training to athletes and those wishing to have a competitive edge. The Gym has a robust class schedule including Weight Training, Boot Camps, HIIT, and Women’s Strength, and group programs specific to a business or industry.
